Child Safety Standards
Our published standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), as they apply to seemykitchen.live and the See My Kitchen Live apps. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material and for any content or conduct that sexualises, exploits or endangers a child.
1. What this service is, and why that matters here
seemykitchen.live shows live video from cameras installed in the food preparation areas of contracted, licensed food businesses in Hyderabad. It is important to be precise about the shape of the product, because it determines where risk can and cannot arise:
- There is no user-generated content. Members of the public cannot upload video, images, text or any other material. A diner may ask us to approach a restaurant, but only by choosing a real business from a list supplied by Google — there is no free-text field anywhere in the product, what they type to search is discarded rather than stored, and no name appears publicly until a member of our staff has reviewed it.
- There is no messaging of any kind. No chat, no direct messages, no comments, no reviews, no forums, no user profiles, and no mechanism by which one user can contact or discover another.
- Diners have no accounts. There is nothing to create, and no identity to impersonate.
- Nothing is recorded. Video passes through memory and is overwritten within seconds. There is no archive, no replay, no download and no export — so material cannot be stored, retrieved or distributed through this service.
- No audio is captured at any point.
The only party who can cause anything to appear on this platform is a contracted restaurant, through a camera fixed in its own kitchen, under a signed agreement.
2. What is prohibited
The following are prohibited absolutely, and are grounds for immediate and permanent removal without notice or refund:
- any content depicting or involving a minor in any sexual, exploitative, abusive or unlawful context;
- child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form, whether real, drawn, animated or synthetically generated;
- any use of the service to sexualise a child, to solicit or groom a child, or to facilitate contact with a child for any such purpose;
- any depiction of a child in a state of undress, or in any context inconsistent with the lawful operation of a commercial kitchen;
- any content promoting, normalising or trivialising the sexual abuse or exploitation of children.
These are restated in binding form at clause 2.2 of the Restaurant Publisher Terms, which every streaming restaurant accepts.
3. Employment of children in kitchens
Indian law prohibits the employment of children below 14 years of age, and the employment of adolescents in hazardous occupations. A commercial kitchen is not a lawful workplace for a child.
A child working in a streamed kitchen is a reportable child safety concern in its own right, whether or not any other misconduct is present. If we identify or are notified of one, we will take the feed offline immediately and report it to the appropriate authority. Restaurants are contractually required to comply with applicable labour law, and we will not continue to carry a stream that shows unlawful child labour.
4. How to report a concern
Anyone — a diner, a member of the public, a member of kitchen staff, or anyone who has seen something on this service — may report a child safety concern at any time. No account is required, and reports may be made anonymously.
Email seemykitchenlive@gmail.com with the subject line CHILD SAFETY, naming the kitchen concerned and what you saw. This address is reachable from every page of the site and the apps, and is published to Google Play as our child safety point of contact.
Reports marked CHILD SAFETY are prioritised above every other category of complaint. We aim to make an initial assessment within a few hours of receipt, and will take a feed offline while assessing rather than after.
5. What we do on a report
- The stream is taken offline immediately, before investigation, not after.
- The listing is suspended and the restaurant's ability to publish is revoked.
- We report the matter to the appropriate authority in India, including the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in), the local police, and where relevant the child welfare authorities.
- We cooperate fully with any lawful investigation. Note that because nothing is recorded, we hold no footage to provide, and we will say so plainly rather than imply otherwise.
- Where a restaurant is responsible, its agreement is terminated permanently. There is no reinstatement path.
6. Preventive measures
- Restaurants are onboarded under a signed agreement, with a verified FSSAI licence, and are approved individually before any stream is published.
- Camera position is agreed at onboarding and is restricted to the food preparation area. Pointing a camera anywhere else is a material breach.
- Publishing requires a per-camera key. There is no open endpoint through which an unauthorised party could push video onto a feed.
- The absence of recording, messaging, uploads and accounts removes the mechanisms through which this kind of harm is normally distributed or initiated online.
7. Compliance
We comply with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 (POCSO), the Information Technology Act 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, and the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act 1986 as amended. Section 19 of POCSO obliges any person who has apprehension that an offence is likely to be committed, or knowledge that one has been committed, to report it.
8. Child safety point of contact
seemykitchenlive@gmail.com — subject line CHILD SAFETY. This address is monitored and is the same channel published to Google Play as our child safety point of contact.
