About See My Kitchen

See My Kitchen — seemykitchen.live — lets you watch a restaurant's kitchen on a live camera before you order from it. No recording, no sound, and no archive of any kind.

Why this exists

Ordering food online means trusting a kitchen you have never seen. The photographs on a delivery app were taken once, in good light, possibly years ago, and often not in that kitchen at all. The rating tells you what other people thought of the food after it arrived. Neither tells you anything about the room your dinner is actually being cooked in tonight.

A great many kitchens in Hyderabad are clean, careful places run by people with nothing to hide — and no way to prove it. The only evidence available to them is the same photograph-and-rating that everybody else has, including the kitchens that are not careful at all. See My Kitchen exists to give the honest ones a way to show it, by pointing a camera at the work and letting anyone watch.

How it works

Most restaurants already have CCTV. We connect to the recorder that is already on the wall, take the feed from the camera that looks at the cooking line, and put it on the kitchen's page here. In almost every case nothing new is installed. The picture is live, with the recorder's own timestamp on it.

You browse the kitchens, watch whichever you like, check the food safety record printed on the same page, and then order however you already order — Swiggy, Zomato, or a phone call straight to the kitchen. We are not in that transaction at any point.

What we deliberately do not do

Where we are

See My Kitchen is a Hyderabad pilot. There are 4 kitchens on the platform today, across 4 areas, and the list grows as kitchens join.

Questions people ask

What is See My Kitchen?

See My Kitchen is a website that shows live camera feeds from inside the kitchens of restaurants and cloud kitchens in Hyderabad. You watch the kitchen your food would be cooked in, and then order from wherever you normally order. It is a way to look before you order.

Is the video recorded or stored anywhere?

No. Nothing is recorded. Video passes through memory and is overwritten within seconds, and there is no archive, no replay, no download and no export. This is not a setting we happen to have chosen — it is the promise the restaurants sign up to, and the reason they are willing to put a camera in their kitchen at all.

Is there sound?

No. No audio is captured at any point in the system. Recording conversations is a separate legal matter with no benefit to anyone here, so the capability simply does not exist.

Can I order food on See My Kitchen?

No, and that is deliberate. We never take an order, never handle a payment and never take a commission on your food. When you have seen the kitchen, you tap through to Swiggy or Zomato, or call the restaurant directly, and order the way you already do.

How do I know the video is live and not an old clip on a loop?

The picture carries the recorder's own timestamp, and the tile shows a LIVE marker only while the camera is genuinely publishing. If a kitchen's camera stops, the listing says so rather than showing you an old frame — a kitchen that is off air is marked offline, and one outside its opening hours is marked closed.

Whose cameras are these?

The restaurant's own. Most kitchens already have CCTV, so in almost every case we connect to the recorder that is already on the wall rather than installing anything. Nothing about the restaurant's existing security recording changes.

What about the privacy of the kitchen staff?

Cameras are pointed at the work — the pass, the range, the tandoor — rather than at people's faces, and we do not build anything that identifies or tracks individual staff. There is no recording to review after the fact, which removes the concern that a live kitchen camera becomes a surveillance record of somebody's working day.

Can a restaurant turn its camera off?

Yes, at any time, from its own dashboard, without asking us. A kitchen that has taken itself offline is shown as offline rather than hidden, because pretending a kitchen is not on the platform when it is would be its own kind of dishonesty.

Does it cost anything to watch?

No. Watching is free and there is no account to create. Diners have no login, no profile and no history with us.

Where does the hygiene score come from?

The FSSAI licence number, its expiry date and the hygiene audit score out of 102 are shown as they stand on the official record, including when a licence has expired. We publish those rather than inventing a rating of our own, and restaurants cannot edit them.

Which areas of Hyderabad are covered?

See My Kitchen is running as a pilot in Hyderabad, and the areas covered grow as kitchens join. The areas with a live kitchen today are listed on this page, and every kitchen on the platform is on the home page.

How does a restaurant join?

A restaurant sets itself up — there is no site visit and no installer. If the kitchen already has a compatible recorder, connecting it takes a few minutes on the shop's own computer. Full details, including what it costs, are on the page for restaurants.

For restaurants

If you run a kitchen you are proud of, putting it on a live camera is the most direct argument you can make. Setup is self-serve and there is no site visit — see listing your kitchen for how it works and what it costs.
